Goblin: The Lonely and Great God follows the tragic yet enchanting story of Kim Shin (Gong Yoo), a 939-year-old immortal goblin cursed to live eternally after being betrayed by his king. The only way to end his immortality is for his destined bride, Ji Eun-tak (Kim Go-eun), to pull out the mystical sword embedded in his chest. Eun-tak, a cheerful high school student haunted by the ability to see ghosts, unknowingly holds the key to his salvation. As their fates intertwine, Kim Shin grapples with his growing affection for Eun-tak while battling the agony of knowing her love could mean his demise. The story deepens with the introduction of the Grim Reaper (Lee Dong-wook), a mysterious amnesiac tasked with guiding souls to the afterlife.
